Rock N Roll Marathon

Back in August, Chad decided he was going to run in the Inaugural San Antonio Rock N Roll Marathon. I said that I MIGHT run the half. The next thing I knew he had signed my up and paid for me. He also decided to pull together a group of friends to join us. So three months ago we had a group of 12 each planning to go and run the half marathon.....when it came down to it, there were only 4. Truthfully, had Chad not paid for me to do it, I may have dropped too. Only because training for it has been like the last priority on my list. I counted my aerobics teaching for short runs and did maybe 4 long runs total before the race. I skipped from 7.5 miles to 11 miles the week before.
We had a great time. There were 30,000 runners! The weather was perfect (once we started running). It was pretty chilly that morning and had been freezing cold on Saturday, so I made the stupid decision to wear pants. I regretted that after mile 1.
So here we are, the survivors:

Chad was really enjoying me being in his face with the camera after he finished his 26 miles!

Chad and our Friend Ryan decided that since it was a Rock N Roll Marathon, they needed to wear rock n roll wigs. So we made a 45 min. detour in Waco to find wigs. I thought for sure they would shed them after a couple of miles. But, here is Chad at the finish line....proving me wrong. They both said it was great motivation, because people cheered for them specifically all along the way. Chad got called everything from White Snake to Hannah Montana. I didn't get a picture of Ryan running in his, because he finished before me. Chad was running the full marathon, so he finished after me.

I am so proud!

Family Pics

We jumped on the Kristin Cook bandwagon and had some pictures taken this past weekend with Chad's family. You can look at her blog for the sneak peak. We also had pictures taken with my family last month with the photographer who has taken all of Meg's pictures. I don't think there are any on her blog, but I will let you know. You may have to come to my house to see those.

Halloween Week

What a fun Halloween Week. Much more fun then last year when Meg had no idea why I was squeezing her into a flower costume. Not that she understands it all this year, but at least she enjoyed it. The Friday before last, we went to Boo at the Zoo. It was a lot of fun. Meg loves animals and candy, so she had a blast.

"Awe Bear" (with arms reaching for a hug)

"Zeba"

This was the Hay maze in the toddler area. I didn't think we were ever going to get her out of here. She just kept running back and forth laughing and running into other kids.

She had farm day at school last week....I guess they don't celebrate Halloween. She looked really cute in her pigtails and freckles.

The Halloween lips that Mama Joy gave her.

I wish her freckles showed up better. They were pretty cute.

And as for Halloween....she was a the sweetest ladybug. I made her costume, and it was pretty cute, I have to say. Actually she made it cute. It was nothing special on it's own. She wanted to wear her silver "neckli".....and I thought it was a nice touch. It matched her silver shoes, since we didn't have any black ones.

She kept calling her trick or treat bag "purt" (purse).

Meg loved trick or treating with her cousins Bronson and Austin. It only took her 2-3 houses to get the hang of it. She would just follow them up to the door. (She would follow them anywhere.) She did try to go in a few houses...especially the ones with dogs. She LOVES dogs.
Scooby, Darth Vader and the little lady.

What a fun Halloween!
